In their own words
Sophie Bélanger
Office Coordinator, non-profit · Drummondville
"We signed up for the writing programme because our board reports were getting longer every year and nobody was reading them all the way through. By session three, I was rewriting sections in half the time I used to spend. The style sheet has been on my desk every week since."

Martin Côté
Administrative Director · municipal office, QC
"The file flow review took six weeks and I'll be honest — I wasn't sure what we'd get out of it. The report showed us three places where files were sitting for no real reason. We changed two of them in the same month. The third one needed a policy conversation, which is fair. Worth it."

Lise Trépanier
Front-desk manager · professional services, Victoriaville
"The communication workshop was the best half-day training I've put my team through in a long time. The scenarios were from our own office — not generic examples. My staff left with a phrase bank in French and English that they actually use. The follow-up session six weeks later was a nice touch."

Philippe Fontaine
Operations manager · cooperative, Sherbrooke
"Jérôme was upfront at the scoping call about what the file flow review would and wouldn't cover — administrative scope only, no IT or HR. That was exactly what we needed. The process map he produced is pinned in our back office and our new admin uses it to onboard."

Andrée Roy
Executive Director · community organisation, Trois-Rivières
"We took the writing programme and the communication workshop back to back. The writing work helped us clean up our grant applications; the communication workshop helped the same staff handle donor calls more calmly. I'd do both again. The only thing I'd change is starting earlier in the year."

Nicolas Lacroix
Office manager · small firm, Drummondville
"We're 11 people and I wasn't sure a writing programme would be worth the time. We used two of our own client letters as the rewrite subjects and the difference was obvious — not because we made them fancy, but because they were shorter and clearer. The flat rate made it easy to justify to my director."

Case Studies
Three offices, three outcomes
Challenge
Community centre, Saint-Hyacinthe — 8 staff
Grant application letters were rejected twice for language that reviewers found unclear. The director spent an average of four hours per application revising drafts from three different staff members.
Solution
Plain-Language Writing Program — four sessions, with the grant letter format used as one of the two rewrite subjects. A style sheet specific to that letter type was produced at the end.
Outcome
Director's revision time on the next application dropped to under 90 minutes. The following grant cycle, two of three applications advanced to a second review stage — compared to zero in the previous cycle.

Challenge
Professional services office, Drummondville — 14 staff
Front-desk staff were handling an increasing share of client calls involving sensitive matters. Two long-term staff had left in the same year, partly citing the stress of these interactions. Managers were spending time in debrief sessions every week.
Solution
Client Communication Workshop — two half-days with role-play built from situations the team described in a pre-workshop questionnaire. Follow-up session held at week six to check what had changed and what hadn't.
Outcome
Manager debrief sessions dropped from weekly to monthly within two months. Staff reported feeling more confident using the phrase bank in French. One participant said it was the first training that gave her something to actually say in the moment.

Challenge
Municipal satellite office, Centre-du-Québec — 19 staff
The office manager estimated that roughly 20% of incoming requests took more than two weeks to resolve, but nobody could say why. Three different staff members gave three different answers about who was responsible for intake.
Solution
Small-Office File Flow Review — two on-site days, role interviews with seven staff, and a remote analysis phase. A written report with a process map and bottleneck summary delivered at a closing meeting with the office manager and deputy director.
Outcome
Two of four bottlenecks were addressed by reassigning a single task. The intake responsibility question was answered in the report and formalized by the office manager the following week. At the three-month mark, the same manager reported that the two-week resolution rate had dropped by more than half.
